The SPM Projects home page contains a Navigation Menu, a list of available Datasets and an indication of the currently active Dataset.
A dataset is equivalent to a database. Each dataset is an individual database. The user may copy an entire database but can not copy an sub-activity ( programme or project) from one database to another.
Pressing the F5 keyboard function key or clicking on the text active dataset will re-display the home page at any point in the application. |
The currently active dataset is indicated at the top right hand corner of the screen. this information will be displayed throughout the application.

Available Datasets are listed and described in the middle of the screen. Datasets will have a status of either Planning, Master or Archive.
Planning |
Planning versions are available for modification. |

There can be multiple Planning versions at any time. |
Master |
Master versions will have read-only access and will be locked. |
|
Only one Master version can exist at any time. |
|
Deletion of Master versions is prohibited. |
|
Master versions will contain only those projects with a status as defined with Application Settings. |
Archive |
Archive versions will have read-only access. |
|
Multiple Archive versions may exist. |
|
Archive versions can be copied from Master versions only. |
Locked |
Once planning versions have been locked, user modification is prevented. |
Ensure that the correct dataset is selected by clicking on the dataset name in the listed datasets.
The item selected will become the active Dataset.
info displays the status of projects in the dataset. Project numbers in green indicates that all projects have appropriate costs, cost allocations etc. Project numbers in red indicates that some projects are being recalculated in the background, and if the user needs to run a DC calculation the user should wait till the project numbers become green.
Datasets can be created by a user with administration rights only, and are managed within the Administration module.
The Main Navigation Menu on the left hand side of the screen will always be visible and provides access to the following functions:
