Projects Information Screen

The Information screen displays general details about the selected Project.

Information is recorded from current planning, relating to the detail of individual Projects.

• Project Code and Name
• Project status
• Scope
• Project Manager
• Localities (added after project is created)

  Note: Provision of infrastructure often relates to specific parts of the community. The name of the Locality is recorded. This has no impact on the Cost Allocation of an individual project, it is provided to support later assessment of a Development Contribution charge.

  

  Development Contributions (DCs) are all about money. They are a source of income for council to fund capital works that are necessary to continue to supply the community with a level of service.

  DCs are a means of fairly charging the additional costs of growth projects, to those who create the need for growth.

  

  Cost Allocation is a method of calculating proportions of project costs to support the distribution of Development Contributions.

  

  The specific physical place where a Project (or part of a Project) will occur. The Locality does not necessarily identify who will receive the services, or who will ultimately fund the project. See Catchment for further discussion.

  

  A Project is a temporary endeavor undertaken to create a unique product or service defined by a specific set of deliverables.

  A project involves the selection of specific components for maintenence or renewal activities, with a budget allocated to cover the cost of the project.

  A series of Projects, combine to form a Programme.

  

  Field	Description
  code	Mandatory field that identifies the Project in conjunction with the Name field.
  name	Mandatory field that identifies the Project in conjunction with the Code field.
  programme	The Programme with which this Project is associated. A Programme is an integrated system of Projects, intended to meet a specific service or need, to deliver an overall change for the business.
  	Selected from a drop down list.
  status	Mandatory field that identifies the planning of this project.
  	Selected from a drop down box.
  	Defined in the Status Reference setup within Administration module.
  alt. status	Optional status.
  	Selected from a drop down box.
  	Defined in the Alt. Status Reference setup within Administration module.
  start year	Once Project costs have been entered the first Project year will be displayed as the start year.
  net cost	Total internally funded cost (recalculated when Cost Allocation Summary is completed)
  external funded	Total externally funded cost (recalculated when Cost Allocation Summary is completed)
  total	Once Project costs have been entered, the total Project cost will be displayed.
  scope	A brief description of the Project scope.
  localities	The physical location that will benefit from the Project.
  	Selected from a drop down list.
  	Multiple Localities can be selected.
  	Defined in the Localities setup within Administration References.
  	perc	The percentage of the Project allocated to this locality.
  		For multiple Localities, the percentage total must equal 100.
  		When removing Localities, the percentage value entered should be 0 and not blank.
  	comment	A comment that considers and reports why this Project Capacity has been assigned to this Locality.
  manager	The manager responsible for this Project.
