Funding Screen

Multiple funding sources can be allocated in the Funding screen.

Once funding sources have been assigned at the Sub-activity level:

• External funding sources will be available in the Project Costs screen
• Renewal, Backlog and Growth funding sources can be allocated at Cost Allocation
  

  The portion of a planned (or completed) capital project providing capacity in excess of existing community demand at the current agreed levels of service.

  

  The portion of a planned (or completed) capital project that is required to rectify a shortfall in service capacity to meet existing community demand at the current agreed levels of service.

  

  The gross cost of replacing an existing asset with a modern equivalent asset to the same function and capacity at the end of its life.

  Renewal is about the "money put aside" in anticipation of the cost for replacing the asset at some future time. This should not be confused with the asset replacement activity. The asset replacement activity (or rehabilitation work) draws on the knowledge that an asset is reaching the end of its life and is the work planned to ensure that the integrity of the service is maintained. The rehabilitation work may also include elements of backlog and growth to ensure the integrity of the service for some time into the future.

• The first funding source in the list, identified as default(1) will be initially assigned to all Cost Allocation outputs
• Funding sources must be defined within the References section of the Administration module before they will be available for selection

  

  Field	Description
  comments	Any general comments with regard to Funding Sources.
  funding source	Select Funding Sources from the drop down list.
  	Multiple funding sources can be allocated.
  	The funding sources allocated at Sub-activity level will be available for selection within the Project Costs and Cost Allocation Summary screens.
  comments	A comment that defines the consideration that led to this funding source being identified for this Sub-activity.
  	This comment should reflect/repeat statements made in the Revenue and Financing policies.

To Remove a Funding Source

1. Tick the check box besides all Funding Sources to be removed
2. Select the delete marked button

   All selected items will be deleted.

   No warning message will be displayed.

   To make expenditure categories available for selection in project cost allocation summary, all required funding sources must be picked/added at the sub-activity level.
